Our Founder & Principal

Mandy Wang

Ms. Wang is an esteemed educator and visionary leader in the field of Dual Language education, with a rich background spanning over 20 years in both public and private schools in China and Canada. Having served as the principal of The Dalton School, she now brings her wealth of experience and expertise to her role as the principal of The Shire School, where Mandarin and English converge to create a unique and enriching educational experience.

Our Teachers

  • Lena Yang

    Lena Yang was a teacher at Dalton for more than 6 years and has experience teaching different age groups. She believes everyone can pick up a new language if they are interested.

  • Angélica Zamora

    Señora Zamora is a certified DELE examiner of Spanish and she holds a Master’s degree in Hispanic Linguistics (U of T). She has taught her native Spanish for over ten years.

  • Charles Zhou

    Charles Zhou will be teaching the Upper Elementary class this year. He looks forward to taking the various teaching experiences he has accumulated over the years to create a learning environment where students can set and reach their goals, challenge their limits, and exceed their own expectations.

  • Michelle Holmes

    Raised in a small country town, Michelle Holmes holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University specializing in Political Science and French as a Second Language. For 8 years, Michelle taught private piano lessons at The Dalton School with RCM standing, and later taught Grade 1 English.

  • Suzanna Li

    Ms. Li has rich experience working with both kindergarten and elementary children. She comes to us with a strong sense of love and responsibility. Ms. Li has worked to establish a beautifully run classroom, creating interactive lessons and activities to engage her students.

  • Sophie Sun

    Sophie Sun

    Ms. Sun has extensive experience teaching Mandarin in both Canada and China. She brings 8 years of experience teaching Mandarin to kids aged 6-11 in Montreal, as well as 13 years of experience teaching at the elementary school level in China.

  • Katherine Ho

    Katherine Ho is a passionate and devoted educator with 20 years of experience teaching English, science, and social studies at an international school in Taiwan. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph and is a certified elementary teacher.

  • Alan Li

    Alan Li

    Yilun Li, known to his students as Alan, is an enthusiastic and dedicated professional with a passion for education and student development. With a background in educational administration, counseling, and teaching, he brings a unique blend of skills and experience to support the growth and success of students.

Our Volunteers

  • Donna Booth

    Donna Booth earned her BA in Sociology from Western University in London, Canada. She holds her AMI Elementary 6-12 teaching certificate from Bergamo, Italy. As well, she participated in Montessori Primary training through St. Nicholas Montessori College.

  • Jill Boyd

    Jill Boyd has been a teacher for 7 years at Dalton. She particularly loves teaching children to learn how to print and read and especially enjoys making learning fun with creative art projects and interactive learning experiences.

  • Enosh Yin-Cheng

    Enosh Yin-Cheng, also known as Mr. YC to his students, has been a teacher for 7 years, and has taught in the U.K. (London and Edinburgh) as well as Canada (Toronto, ON; Nisga’a and Kamloops, BC, where he currently lives).

  • Caitlin Holmes

    A seasoned teacher with over thirteen years of professional experience in both private and public institutions, Caitlin Holmes began her career at the Dalton School, where she was the original English teacher and assisted in the early growth of the school.
