A Day at the Shire
When you enter The Shire School, you will notice our small class sizes, caring staff and a stimulating environment that offers children plenty of time to explore and discover, while providing them with the opportunity to learn and shine.
School Hours
Each child spends half their school day in an English classroom and the other half in a Mandarin classroom. School hours are:
8:00 – 8:30 Before School Care
8:30 – 11:30 Class Time
11:30 – 12:30 Lunch and Playtime
12:30 – 3:30 Class Time
3:45 – 5:45 After School Care
Lunch
We believe good nutrition plays an important role in helping your child achieve their greatest potential. Studies have shown that snacks and lunches high in nutritional value help children to remain calm and focused; and this in turn, enhances learning. This is why The Shire School provides a nutritious, well balanced lunch program that is included with our school fees. The program is provided to our students by Real Food for Real Kids.
Parents are encouraged to provide their children with a reusable water bottle and two nutritious, nut-free snacks per day.
Before School Care
Before school care is provided free of charge to parents that require it. The Shire School also provides a wide range of After School Programs and Camps.
Uniforms
The Shire School uniform consists of
white collared golf shirt, blouse or dress shirts
grey or navy shorts, skirt, pants, leggings or capris
navy sweater, sweatshirt or cardigan
shoes and socks of your choice
PE Uniform: white Shire School t-shirt, navy sweatpants and running shoes
